New York Times Documentary "Homeless" Employees of Disneyland California

Sheviln has been a loyal employee at Disneyland for 30 years but has brought joy to millions of people, but her own life is not so happy!

At this Disneyland in California, thousands of employees are not getting paid what they deserve, and many of them are even sleeping in their cars because they can't pay their rent. The hardest part is that their hourly wage has been gradually reduced from $15.8 to $13.6.

Because of the drop in salary and the rise in prices, Sheviln, who used to live alone, now has to share a room with five people to make ends meet. But even so, she still keeps the Mickey Mouse toy that brought her the dream...

The good news is that hardships don't last forever, and after the ongoing protests of these low-wage employees, Disneyland California has proposed a reasonable wage increase and employee college plan. Hopefully, these people who bring happiness to others will have a happier future themselves ......
